Paintings must be packed in large boxes, and large boxes are expensive to ship. For destinations within the contiguous 48 United States, we have negotiated a discounted shipping rate with FedEx that will give our customers the lowest cost and fastest delivery possible. When you go through checkout, these shipping costs will appear on your bill. If you are in our area, you can also come to our location and pick up your painting via curbside pickup. We will come to your car and load the wrapped painting into your trunk or back seat so that it can travel safely.
For customers anywhere else outside the contiguous 48 United States, due to limitations of our website your shipping price will appear as Free but this is NOT the case. PLEASE CONTACT US VIA EMAIL at inquire@brecksmithart.com and we will negotiate a shipping price with you. Long distance shipping is very expensive, and the first thing we want to do is get your address information and whether or not you are able to go to a pickup site so that we can find the least expensive way to ship your painting(s) to you. The next thing we will do is share part of the cost of shipping. We will generally share up to 25% of shipping costs for longer distance shipping.
For customers purchasing our largest paintings (greater than 31" x 26"), due to the limitations of our website your shipping price will appear as Free but this is NOT the case. If this is true of a painting it will be noted in a red ribbon on the page saying "Special Handling Required." Like long distance shipping, shipping very large paintings creates special problems. Specially made crates may have to be built, and oversize charges for FedEx or UPS will apply. (The US Postal Service will not ship our largest paintings.) Here again, we want to give you the best shipping costs possible, so PLEASE CONTACT US VIA EMAIL at inquire@brecksmithart.com and we will negotiate a shipping price with you. We will need your address information and whether or not you are able to go to a pickup site so that we can find the least expensive way to ship your painting(s) to you. The next thing we will do is share part of the cost of shipping. We will generally share up to 25% of shipping costs for larger painting shipping.

In some cases we have paintings that have already been framed by the artist, and this is noted in the description area. If you prefer to have the frame removed in order to choose your own frame, please let us know before shipping and we will happily accommodate this request and reduce the price of the painting to reflect this change. We normally use “floater frames,” in which the painting sits in a recessed frame with a small open air area around it, which we can obtain at an artist’s discount and offer to you at a lower price than you would pay at a frame store. For framed paintings, frame cost is already included in the list price. (Click here for an example of a floater frame.) Our floater frames are natural wood colored with black interior or whitewashed wood colored with a whitewashed wood interior. We will be happy to send you photos of your work in its current frame.
Please let us know before we ship your artwork if you want us to remove the frame from a work listed as framed, as shipping framed paintings and drawings is costly and you will be responsible for all shipping costs if you decide to return a painting or drawing to us to have the frame removed. To request a painting be unframed, please call 919-819-6089 between the hours of 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST Monday through Saturday or email inquire@brecksmithart.com.
